Canopy
As part of this build, recall I also purchased the GPM vacuformed canopy.
However, I discovered it had a small dent and was not clear ( sort of cloudy at some locations ). I think it was damaged while in my posession. I will try to salvage it for now and then I will order a new canopy and do it right. I used Future floor polish to try to clear it. dunk it dry it cover overnight to prevent dust accumulating on it. unfortunately, the canopy is the same. Use it anyway. cut frames and glue to fit dry fit Isaac

Canopy on ( semi temporary )
Since there is so much nice detail in the cockpit and the forward canopy is not clear, I decided to cut it from the windscreen and display it in the open position.
It is placed temporarily for now and will be lightly glued later on. When I get the new canopy, it will be replaced ( I was thinking about making my own canopy, but decided against it for now ). Here it is. Isaac

Isaac,
I totally agree, it would be a crying shame NOT to see all of that beautiful detailing inside the cockpit. Nice work, I do like an open canopy, and a dirty aircraft configuration. It shows off a lot more detailing. Gary

At this point, I decided that the model is done. I added some of the small antennas and fairings ( not all since some are way too small ).
As far as corrections to be made, those will be relegated to the future. - Canopy needs to be replaced due to it not being clear and has a dent. - Nose RADOM needs corrected shape and thus a new vacuformed plug. Pictures of the plane as is now, soon. Isaac

I would still say a perfect build. Very nice work as always, Isaac. Thank you for the build thread and photos.

Good one, Isaac This plane has a set of peculiar details that make it an appealing subject.
From my experience, GPM canopies are always very transparent and they usually fit well. So, maybe your problem was "one-off"... |
