Guys
Thanks for the observations and comments. In retrospect, I could have used the damaged canopy to make my own mold and then vacuform a new one. However , I was concerned I would ruin it further. So for now, the model is still OK. I will order two canopies sometimes in the future and use one to make my own mold out of it. As an aside, the GPM kit as I stated in the beginning has two models printed. One shiny and one matt ( which I just built ). I may consider using the shiny version at a future time as well. Isaac

Here is my current built inventory of Yak aircraft I built in paper. Yak 19 1st gen (first row left) Yak 25 1st gen (first row center) Yak 30 1st gen (first row right) Yak 1000 ( middle left side ) Yak 25M ( middle center ) Yak 17W ( middle right ) Yak 15 ( back red color ). and old Maly Modelarz versions of the Yak 23 ( brown as from the kit and grey is my attempt at repaint ). Both models have been given away as well. I gave away my Yak 17 and Yak 23 here are pics of those and a pic of the nose mounted engine versions and I gave away my Yak 3 prop fighter ( Modelik kit ) years ago ( before I did clear canopies ) In addition, here are the Yaks I have in plastic in 1/72 scale In case you are wondering why so many, I tend to build whole series of models that are related. So I have Soviet jets ( Migs, Suchoi, Lavochkins, Yaks, Ilyushin ), Swedish ( SAAB jets ), German Luft 46 concept planes, Israeli Air force jets etc, early jets like the Gloster E28/39, Meteor... Same thing in plastic. After a while, I give models away during our club meetings so others can have them as I need to make room for new builds. Fun stuff. Isaac

Apologies I missed this highly interesting thread! Job very well done, Isaac. You assembled this kit wonderfully, using many "tricks". Nothing wrong with the canopy, it displays the nicely detailed cockpit very well.

Vautour comparison
Once more, but in completed form is the just finished Yak 25M next to the French Vautour contemporary aircraft. The Vautour model was enlarge to 1/33 scale from 1/50.
