YG-model IP-1

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grigorovich_IP-1

Above is a link to the history of this plane as recorded in Wikipedia.

For some reason, I am drawn to this model. It also helps I have the laser cut parts to ease the building effort a little.

Anyway, so far so good.

Good start, Greg.

A quintessential 1930s transition aircraft from struts and wires to low-wing cantilever monoplanes.

Wing frame work was built up next.

Odd thing about this build is that it is not built numerically like most other paper models. It is mostly built according to illustration sequence instead.
Not a problem for me, but still different than usual.

The pictures with the wing frame attached to the fuselage is just a mockup. They are not permanently attached at this time.

Also, a discussion with a FB friend has lead me to look at the armament on this model. I noticed that this one is a later version with six 7.62 mm guns instead of the original version with two 75 mm cannons.

It is nicely detailed and textured. It is building up rather nicely so far but does take some planning and patience.

The laser cut parts did not come with the basic kit. I bought them separately.
