Skyline Boeing 777-200ER 1/72

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, wanted to start building a new model and came here to brows and see what others are building. Figured I'd share a recent model I finished.

I've built a couple models by Skyline and I have to say they are some of my favourite builds. Some of the best fitting pieces and simple yet well done details.

This is the 1/72 scale United Airlines Boeing 777-200ER and it measures nearly 35 inches long and 34 inches wide. I added a couple of extra details that were not part of the kit that I'm rather proud of. First was the support strips on the nose cone, then the rain gutters above each of the doors and finally, on all of the leading edges I used silver washi tape to give it a chrome look. Hope you all enjoy!

I like that chrome look.Do B777 have chromed parts like that or are they stainless steel?

I was wondering if Skyline models will be available again,I can use Finnair DC-9 he made.

You wouldn't know anything about that ,would you?

First of all, welcome aboard!

Great looking triple 7, your additions add a lot to the kit.

Thanks,
Gary

As it has been mentioned quite a few times recently, Sumato is busy with his career. and Chris has contacted him, but no reply.

contact has been made, but it is up to Sumato to respond

I think they are not chrome in reality, was kind of just an artistic flair I put on it haha. I know I’ve seen other United jets with chrome leading edges before, I think some of the 757’s are that way.

No idea about when skyline may be available again, I just had this copy from a long time ago and never got around to building it until recently. I keep hearing that ecardmodels will be putting them up again, which would be great because I want to build more, I really enjoy Skyline!

Great build! Especially considering that you just started paper modeling, and you've done the Skyline model justice with this one. Hope to see more models from you!

Thank you for the compliment! I’ve actually been paper modeling for about 14 years, just new to this website haha!
