BOAC service to Tokyo Haneda in early 1961. There was an elegance to the appearance of the Comet that was was missing in the 707s or DC-8s. Your model really does justice to the beautiful shape of the plane.

The elegant lines of the Comet can be attributed to his designer Sydney Cam who was also the Hunter designer. The Hunter was also a very elegant plane with beautiful lines. During the 60's many Comet airliners were operated by middle east
Air lines companies ! You have done an excellent job with the Comet ! Yair |

Nicely built model! I fully agree with the remarks regarding the elegancy of the plane. Sadly, a few crashes occurred with loss of life, but this resulted in considerable better knowledge of pressurized cabins and the effect of metal fatigue (cracking).

Thank you for all the information. Any recommendation of books with details on this aircraft I could check out?
@scon, I liked the Constellation a lot! It's been a while since I saw a build on these subjects though... @hyair, for some reason China had an affinity to the Trident, I think the few we had were liked much more than Soviet-made ones during that period. @C9B, I had actually built the B707 from the LHVCC website a while ago, and I very much agree with you. If I can figure out where I put that model I might do a side-by-side shot @herky, @Erik, it was exactly the subject taught in my undergraduate lecture. Sure, this was what made it famous, but it definitely deserves a better name as suggested by many earlier. @Isaac, it reminded me, has the Nimrod ever been made into paper at all? @herky, deep respect to your engineering lineage, sad that engineering is not as respected a job as it was back then

I have seen the Nimrod in plastic, but not in paper. Maybe others have better leads on a paper version.
