Thank you everyone for checking in.
Following AirDave's build thread here: AT6 Texan Build - Photoset I've put together the wing frames. I've added additional blocks of balsa wood on the outsides of the former "B" (circled in red). These are where the landing gear will mount. Thanks, Gary

Are you building a gear up model? If so, ignore my next question.
Have you checked the rib spacing on that frame? I only ask because you used balsa (thicker) material for the frame parts). The added blocks are for mounting the landing gear. If the frame is too wide, the blocks will be useless. You could be drilling into the ribs themselves. I did this once, and split the ribs open. I had to soak everything in glue and redrill the landing gear holes. Just check your measurements and see where the gear will mount. If need be, you might have to add something to both sides of the Ribs. And soak them in glue for extra strength. Then you can drill directly into the rib (if need be).

Dave, I'm building a gear down version.
I measured the wing rib structure against Part 14, and the blocks lineup to where the landing gear will go (so it looks). Time will tell as I keep going. Thanks, Gary

Next is the cutting and folding of the centre wing (Part 14). As you can see, once again I followed Dave's instructions. I've added the centre line marker with a pencil, so that I know where to line the wing frames to.
Thanks, Gary

Have fun
Gary
Have fun doing the research regarding the Harvard your dad flew. Solo in this aircraft? Hopefully he flew a Tiger Moth first to get some stick and rudder time. I remember you bringing your yellow 412 Harvard to my place in Toronto when we got together in 2017. Will you have a clear canopy this time? Isaac

Isaac,
Thanks for posting those photos, I definitely had a great time. When I look through my Dad's log book, he spent about 22 hours in a Chipmunk before they let him climb into the Harvard. He put a lot of time in the Harvard and the Link Trainer before he got to climb into a T-33. This Harvard will have a clear canopy and have a cockpit. Gary

The wings are next. I used the same wooden dowel to round the leading edge of the wings prior to gluing the trailing edge. Make sure that the trailing edge is lined up straight or your wings will be warped.

For the wheel housings, I following AirDave's method of using small joining strips made of regular weight paper. I then burnished the housings.
Before adding the joiner strip (parts 15a) to front of the centre wing section (where the wheel housings will be connected), I scored the tabs on these joining strips prior to installation. Thanks, Gary

Photo 1: On to the landing gear. At this time, one main wheel is complete, and one is cut out, burnished, and edge coloured. I scored the tabs on the joiner strip for Part 23, as well I scored the tabs on Parts 25.
Photo 2: Now the wheels are done, we're onto the main gear. I have completed and assembled one gear already. I used crazyglue when I glued the parts together for the landing gear. The rolled parts are rolled on a round toothpick. Don't forget to score Part 21. Thanks, Gary

Slow Progress. Wings added to the centre section. As Airdave indicates on his build thread, it's important to make sure the seam on the bottom of the wing is nice and tight. I've added the wings seam strip on the left side. I started glue the strip from the top rear of the wing (with a little overhang as you can see by the photo). In order to curve the strip, I used a small metal wire (seen in the photo).
Thanks, Gary
