Isaac,

Dave's kit has the correct exhaust pipe.

However, that heater jacket would be a lot of work to add (way beyond my skill set anyway).

Thanks,
Gary

Photo 1: Cowling Spacer strips. I needed to add 3 spacer strips to make a snug fit.

Photo 2 & 3: The dry fit on the cowling showed that I made the anti-glare strip too wide. Oh well, not too bad. As a contractor friend of mine always says "Don't worry, you won't see that from the highway".

I do remember a story that my stepdad told me when we were at the Abbotsford Airshow: He said that he only wishes that he could have flown a Harvard that was in as good a condition as the ones at the airshow. He said that the Harvards he flew had all sorts of different tones of yellow (to cover up the dings). He said when a Harvard crashed, everything salvageable was, and re-used.

I've got time to either install this on, or print a new one (even if the yellow is a different tone).

Thanks,
Gary

Photo 1: On to the wing fairing. I've scored the fairing, folded and bent it as per AirDave's photos and instructions.

Photo 2: I then glued the wing fairing to the rear of the wing structure. I let the glue dry overnight.

Thanks,
Gary

You are absolutely correct Sergio, make or break.

Thanks,

After letting the glue dry over night, the fairing/wings glued onto the fuselage. Sorry for the photo quality. I'll let the glue dry, then start gluing the fairing.

Thanks,
Gary

Photo 1: Gluing the wing fairing back to front, I started with the starboard side. Once the back was done, I slowly move forward (gluing only the top) until I could wrap the end of the fairing around the front of the wing. I then glued both top and bottom to the bottom of the wing/fuselage connection (photo later).

Photo 2: Here's the start of the port side. Only the back of the fairing and about 3 cm of the top are glued at this point.

Thanks,
Gary

These fairings, or as they are called is a part that gives work, slow and patient. And if there are no guide marks more.It looks very good until here Gary, you almost have it ready.

Thank you Sergio.

Dave does have guide marks to start off the fairing, so it does make it easier. As well, his build thread gives some great tips and explanations on installing the wing fairing.

Gary

The wing roots/fillet look good. Always an important feature of any model as it attracts attention.

Isaac
