We don't get any 727s here. FedEx and UPS mainly use MD-11s, 757s and 767s. Plus Cessna Caravans. The closest one to me that I know of is an old United one that Pima has in their boneyard.

I don't think anyone is actively flying the B727 in the USA anymore ( Maybe Kallitta still flies them out of Willow Run airport ). It is not an economical plane to use and those old P&W JT8D engines guzzle lots of fuel and probably do not meet the noise restriction even with those hush kits.

In any case, I think it is a classy looking airplane.

The 727 will always be eternally flying in the endless skies of my heart... That was the very first airliner I ever set foot on, and was my introduction to the amazing world of aviation. It had such an impact on me that I decided that I would make a career in the aviation industry.

Here's one still flying -- and I'd DEFINITELY be in for it: The Zero G 727 with winglets!

Forgot to mention that the movable refuelling probe is an add-on and it is fixed in close position in the kit. What I did was that I fixed a tiny hinge for the probe to move up and down and a short pin to lock it to the fuselage when it is up.

It does look really good.I'm not sure is this is design or paper it was printed on but to me it looks so much like some of the GELI published models (that's a compliment).
