Aviatik Berg D.I by Marek Repaint by Matt77

I finally got hold of this kit and it prints up as pretty in person as the photos of the model. I've been on a roll cutting, bending and gluing for a few days now. I'm kinda coming up for air before starting to rig this plane.

This is a fine model of the Berg in any case, however Matt77's repaint takes it up another whole order of magnitude. I printed on glossy photo paper and sprayed that well with Krylon clear gloss. For some of the more fiddly little parts, I reprinted the sheet on typing paper, also given the Krylon treatment.

It was printed as "fit to page" and the software said 92%. I have had zero fit issues, so I will count my lucky stars and not say bad things about my cheapie HP printer.

This has been a very enjoyable build to this point and I hope to finish up in a few days.

Outstanding work, Steven!

Superb textures. Very precise and clean construction. The pilot's seat looks exceptionally realistic - in the "I can't believe it's made of paper" category.

Thanks y'all. I'm having a lot of fun with this kit. The Repaint by Matt77 makes it eye candy to enjoy while I'm building.

Can anyone tell me where this model is available from please? I’ve searched but Matt77’s site comes up with a 404 message when I try to buy the model. Am I doing something wrong? Bailey.

Thanks Mike.

I am currently fit and fiddling the top wing in place. Each strut has a 0.3mm brass rod core and holes were poked where the artist marked them. The mainplanes are glued to the bottom wing with Tacky Glue and even dry, they have a lot of wiggle to help with fitting the pins in their holes in the top wing. Much dry fitting before any glue. After that, it is rigging and a few minor details left.
