FMA IA-58A Pucará on 1/100 scale
Finally I make my FMA IA-58 Pucará on Falklands (Malvinas) War of 1982 in 1/100 scale, is a model designed by Ramiro Quinteros over semi scale Ojimak model. Is not a easy model for make a good Pucará replica, but is not Ramiro fault, the Ojimak made a original model to fly. I scratchbuilding part of undercarriage, but I use Brent Pucará version undercarriage legs and U/C doors, the model have some internal reinforcements with cardboard with EVA foam putty and cold porcelain putty. This model is build in very slow model I start in november of 2018 and fiinish now... (9 months!!)
In this weekend I move to new home but I hope in the next week on S40... |

It looks magnificent Pericles! Beautiful Pucara. This plane, the A-517 was damaged on May 1, 82 while it was to take off from the track Prairie Ganzo track by an attack of Sea Harrier Hermes.Luego was used as a decoy during the conflict. It is said that he is currently in Britain

I've never seen this plane before. Interesting machine.
Pericles, you did a really great work, especially if we consider all those difficulties you have mentioned. Well done! And thanks for the historical informations and photos, Sergio.

Nice work on this unusual subject Pér. A weapons load too!
I first became aware of this plane with a series of weekly part encyclopedia that came out not long after the Malvinas/Falklands conflict. Would have liked but never had a model of it.

Great build of an aircraft that I've never seen before, Pericles. It's a nice looking aircraft. I love the colour scheme.

For us LatinAmericans it´s a very well known aircraft. I try to convert and recolor the Ojimak version too, but I leave it for a while. Very well don Per. The 9 months were worth.Tony.

Thank's my friends! FMA IA 58 Pucara is a ground attack aircraft specialized in COIN tasks developed in Argentina in late 1960's, more of one hundred are produced, and still operational in FAA Fuerza Aerea Argentina and FAU, Fuerza Aérea Uruguaia, many variants and modernizations are planned the most interesting is a IA-58C (or Charlie) a single seat variant for hunt helicopter task or use for air patrol against non authorized flights with light aircraft, a common pratique for criminals.
Pucara have combat in Malvinas War and Sri Lanka civil war, like Tony say is a very know warplane in Latin America. England captured somed in end of Falklands War and send to mainland many are evaluated by RAE and after send a museuns... A fascinating plane I love the design... |

Hee hee ... I saw one every day during our little hike from Goose Green to Stanley. Fortunately, he didn't see us. It was all over green not yellow though, so I guess it wasn't this one.
Very nice build Pericles. Do you think this would scale down to 1:300? I've been playing with the Ojimak one but with no real success yet.
