He-70 Blitz by Murphs Models

Beta build so some markings are not corrected yet.

Very slick and pretty plane it was and model definitely reflects that.Alu fuselage construction with elektron alloy cast metal parts .Wooden plywood wings in then fashionable gullwing shape (although inverted).Manually retractable landing gear, somewhat novum in early 30s.Similar or the same method of retracting was used in Russian I-16,I'm not sure if coincidence since He-70 was likely tested in Ryazan.

Very easy model.I tough wings might be hard-they weren't.Exhaust stacks were much harder.Model on pictures is about 75% of original model ,it's about 10-11 inches wingspan.Note-Big/fat wing profile was a feature of this plane.

Nice work, Karol!

How do you always manage to get those wing fillets so smooth?

Great build. That is a very classy looking aircraft.

Beautiful model of a beautiful aircraft. To me, He-70 is one of the most interesting planes of 1930s.

Don

Sometimes they fit bang on,sometimes not so much.Matter of luck I guess.

What helps me a lot is use of water based white glue of right consistency.Correct one will soften edge of paper just enough to "melt' right in place.

BTW-model on pictures shows one of machines transferred from Lufthansa to Luftwaffe.
All of those machines were refited for trainers and stayed in Lufthansa grey/silver dope until major overhaul or accidents.Lots of them were grey till end of their life.

A beautiful beta build, but if I'm not mistaken, Murph's got the wing markings wrong. When viewed from above and behind, markings should read +30on left upper wing, and M13+ on right upper wing. The M and numerals need to be rotated 180 degrees on each wing so they read properly from behind. Not sure about the underside, but again, it should read +30 M13+, left to right when the airplane is flipped viewed with nose to the front.

You are correct.Model on pictures is a "beta' build so corrections are not there yet.I already did all of them and send corrected file to Aaron.

I also added alternate marking for vertical stabilizer and again I did Tomanian "double cross" marking from "The Great Dictator".
