Very nice work as always, Isaac. Yoav's kits are amazing.

Cool Reverse canopy making

I have one of Yoav's canopies for this Fouga. However, I would like to build another version in the future if someone repaints it with the 1967 blue and brown color scheme armed with machine guns, rockets and small bombs. So until that time, I will need another canopy. So I decided to make my own mold so I can vacuform one in the future.

Here is the original vacuformed canopy
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0103.jpg

what you need is Plaster of Paris ( or equivalent )
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0104.jpg

oil
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0105.jpg

and a support stand for the upside down canopy

coat the inside of the canopy and drain the excess
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0106.jpgTzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0108.jpg

mix the plaster to a thicker soupy consistency
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0107.jpg

pour the plaster into the canopy
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0109.jpg

add a wood pedestal on top ( this aids the vacuforming release process later on )
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0110.jpg

wait overnight for the plaster to harden

remove the mold ( the oil will allow it to just slide out ) ; you may repair if needed any small bubble voids.

here is the mold ready to vacuform when needed.
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_0112.jpg

that is all.

Did I hint for a camouflaged Fouga version?

Not one of my better fitting jobs. Some will argue it is the way I assembled the fuselage around the cockpit, but I think the long breaks while traveling causes me to be a bit too loose at some stages of the build.

Anyhow, it is still OK.

Cool Landing gear

The landing gear on this plane is very short and keeps the plane low to the ground. Not much is showing as it sits on the ground.
some reference pics:
Tzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_9338.jpgTzukit- Israeli Fouga- Yoav model-img_9339.jpg

Note:
there may be a debate if the strut and wheel hubs should be metallic or white color, but the reference I have seen including an in flight picture shows it metallic.

I decided to add a very simple gear to the model. It consists of laminated card stock wheels, metal struts with paper wrapped around them, and I used the model's cut out doors in the extended position. I have no files to show. It was all on the go building.

Here is the key to the gear support: a wooden dowel used as an axle

and gear is on

Very nice build Isaac. It's an extremely unique looking aircraft with the V-stabilizers, and the slightly swept wings.
