Well, the last group of Lancasters are, of course, all three Specials:
- Avro Lancaster B Mk.I (Special) 'Grand Slam' (RAF, 617. Sq., Woodhall Spa AB, Bielefeld viaduct attack, 14.3.1945) - Avro Lancaster B Mk.I (Special) 'Tallboy' (RAF, 9. Sq., F.Lt. W.D.Tweddle, Bardney AB, attacks on Tirpitz, November 1944) - Avro Lancaster B Mk.III (Special) (RAF, 617 Sq. W.Cdr Guy Gibson, Operation Chastice, 16-17.5.1943) But I didn't finish yet ... ;-)

That is one strange looking camo combination on Avro York.

This is an unusual camouflage, but it existed. It was the camouflage of RAF transport aircrafts, supposedly on routes outside Europe. As in such cases the flight was often over the sea, the marine colours Dark Slate Grey / Extra Dark Sea Grey were chosen, supplemented on the lower surfaces with Azure Blue. I have already seen a transport version of the Stirling in this camouflage. Well, after I found out that the Yorks in 1945 flew mainly long-range routes due to their long range, the choice was clear... ;-)

From time to time I pull an older model out of my archive and redo it, finish it, improve it... just make it new. I did the same thing now when I restored one of my oldest models, the Hansa-Brandenburg C.1 observation and light bomber.
Moreover, after I found the camouflage of the aircraft flown by the most successful pilot of the Austro-Hungarian Air Force of Czech nationality, Flik 1 commander Hptm. Otto Jindra, it was clear what the model would look like. And this is it:
