I looked it up and it seems like many Czechoslovak crews served in English squadrons. Was there a reason why there was no Czechoslovak dedicated night fighter squadron or there was simply not enough crews and staff to justify one?

One Czechoslovak night fighter unit existed, but not the entire squadron. It was just Flight B. from 68. squadron, which I painted here. The Czechoslovaks served also in the Flight A. and as an expression of homage to the Czechoslovaks bore the entire squadron in its emblem motto in Czech language "Vždy připraven!" (Always ready!).
Of course, there were also pilots and navigators in other squadrons, but in limited numbers. Amongs them was best Czech fighter ace, F.Lt. Karel Kuttelwascher, legendary "Night Reaper" (20 kills) in 1st Squadron (his Hurricane I'd prepare, too). And you're right that there were not too many night fighters in compare with day fighters or bomber crews.

Hi Gerry. Several Czechoslovak pilots were serving in 255. and 96. RAF Night Fighter Squadron as well.
