Canadian Goldilocks
The "Goldilocks" were a RCAF acrobatic display team that flew Harvard aircraft in the early 1960s. The name was a parody of the better know "Golden Hawks".
I have been meaning to do something for some time to try and get myself back into the hobby, as I haven't done any modeling now for years. Repainting the Fiddlers Green Harvard in Goldilocks colors seemed like an easy way to do that, and posting the results of that here will (hopefully) motivate me to actually print it out and build it. Here is page one so far...I am just about done page two then I can see about printing. Hmmm...I may need more ink. And I think my glue is dried out. It really has been a while. |

They make glue from things other than horsehide, now. Try it, its not so bad.

These Goldilocks Harvards seem to be popular modelling subjects- I've done a S&P repaint of #5 (20442).
Yours looks pretty good mate.

Very nice work, Avro. I did find when I built the Fiddlers Green Harvard that the canopy appeared to be too big for the model.
Good luck! Gary

Welcome back
Welcome back Avro. Besides Dave's excellent Harvard kits, you can make some very pleasing simple models with the FG Harvard. As Gary said, some minor changes help. I resized the canopy and added a few pieces to my repaint to represent the Harvard in the Saskatoon museum.
Maybe a little mobile with all 7 Goldilocks flying around in random reflects their great display. Have fun. John |
