Gloster Meteor III Fly model-need info
Can anyone find a build log of the Fly model no 87 of the Gloster Meteor III.
I am not clear about the engine nacelle to the wing installation. I found the finished model here, but I need the pictures showing the construction : Gloster Meteor MkIII Fly Model 87 Thanks Isaac

Isaac
There were many models for the meteor and various engines were mounted on them, some were short and some were long. YOAV this technical drawing is you model MK III the engines is short |

The builder may have switched the engines, which would explain the misaligned betwee, the engine nacelle and the wing.

yes, this is what I was looking for . Thanks As I read thru and look at the pictures, that builder ( Gummikuh ) had the same confusion on the wing to engine nacelle attachment method. He first builds the two wing halves and joins them, then he hollows out the top skin only to realize it can't be assembled, so he cuts the wings back in half and mates the engine again. What confusing method. here are some of his pictures: At least I see I am not the only one having issues here. In any case he did manage to attach it OK. I will need to make my own method for this construction. Isaac

Thank you. I purchased this kit because you will be releasing your Meteor Mk F8 later this year and since yours has no landing gear, I will be planning to use the Mk 3 version ( I hope it is similar ). This is an old kit and is not well designed. In addition to part fit, color matching, it has a very confusing way of attaching the engine nacelles to the inner and outer wing sections. I will probably scan and print test wings and engines to try it out later on. Thanks Isaac

Modifications needed
I looked at Yoav's version of the Meteor F.8 and he attached the engines to the wings in a very simple and direct method without the need for a spar thru the nacelles to support the wing joint. I think I will use a similar method when the time comes for the Mk. 3 version here.
A modification will be needed to the wings as well to join the outer section and splice it differently. Anyhow, thanks all for the information. This will remain on my to do list for a while longer as I have at least 15 more models to build before this one. Here is Yoav's build log for his prototype: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/667620-post39.html Isaac
