Marek Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc

Hello guys,

After a long wait, I've finally started a proper build of this kit. It's Marek's 1/33 Spitfire rescaled to about 65% to save ink and paper, and I'm building it for Ecardmodels. (Sorry it took so long!!!)
I've always loved the Polish 303 Squadron, I remember when I was a little kid, they were like heroes to me!!

I was really surprised of how cleverly engineered this kit is. Everything is well calculated and fits superbly well. Very satisfying.

Now, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to shape the canopy. I think I'm gonna have to use some sort of mold.... Any suggestions on how to do this? I think I've seen some clever methods, but my memory is failing me...

I read some good and some bad opinions about this model,I have one of tho other options from Marek so I'll be paying attention to this.65% you say?is it 1:48 now.

I sort of can't believe those colors.Blue-gray seems way too blue (so is the bottom blue).

How did engine came about? It has its own frame and a lot of parts-do all fit just right?

It's a great kit, maybe not as detailed as some more expensive printed kits. But if you make some scratch built parts, maybe for the cockpit, it'll be fantastic. As a less experienced builder, I did find some areas hard to understand, but other than that, it's fine.

The engine section has formers, and they'll fit nicely. Some trimming might be needed though.

I believe this is a bit smaller than 1/48... Tamiya's Spitfire measures 19cm in length, but my model is slightly shorter.

As for the colours..... Yes, the print came out terribly blueish.... My printer sometimes prints colours wrong. Whenever a blueish colour is printed, it comes out way too blue...
Anyway, the kit is coloured as shown.

Wow, this is really difficult....

I've been making a billion mistakes... I'm relatively new to these kinds of kits.

The progress so far... I had trouble with the formers, which was expected. The cockpit was a real challenge. I really regret building in this scale..... But I've decided not to make excuses.

Still an extremely fun build.

The wing formers and the portside wing have been assembled. The model really comes together nicely, I think I'll do a better job if I build this again.

You're doing a great job. A very nice looking Spitfire.
