Cool On the mantle

And finally, here is the temporary resting place for the model.

Exclamation Repainted version.......Oh well....

So I decided to have this model repainted in an Israeli Air Force blue and brown colors ( circa Six Day War 1967 ). Unfortunately the repaint as well as parts did not match. This is to be considered only as a learning example and I decided not go go further and try to fix it.

Here are some example of the poor fit of the parts and the camouflage pattern.

At this point, the build was finished only as an exercise. It is only to be viewed from afar.

Here it is.

and next to the original version I built earlier.

So this is where this attempt ends.

next, I will try to use the model differently....

Exclamation What's next

One option is to toss it in the trash. Another is use it as a prop in a display.

I decided to mount it and see what it would look like when hanging from the wall.

I used wood dowels and round tubes in the fuselage to attach to a black thick backing.

Here it is mounted on the wall by itself

but, there is a part 2 to the display....

Cool Runway display

I have built these models at my Son's place. He then decided to use the model as a display on a runway to be attached to the wall in the Living room.

So each section of black foam pieces was made to look like a runway. Also he added lights and now it is a prominent display. Very artistic.

Here it is:

That is all for this project.

Shame it didn't work out Isaac. Repainting camo patterns are always a challenge. Looks ok from a distance though and the way it's displayed at the end is as you say, artistic.

Isaac, that's indeed a very artistic display and in that respect your build has been a great success!

Erik

I'm disappointed that the repaint project failed. But in any case this is not the easiest model to assemble due to the large boxy fuselage
