Yak-17 by NOBI
Here is one of oldies done by Nobi. This Yak at least 14 years old,if I remember correctly it use to be free issue on Wings of Horus site.
Not very complicated model but rather small and I had to enlarge it a bit.Parts fit neatly but some fine trimming is needed here and there. With few adjustments ,changes, new canopy and wing spar this would make excellent model.I'm thinking of making UTI two seater stored in Krakow aviation museum. Model is not particularly correct but that's not the point.Modelik made two Yak-17s-those are much closer to true form but a whole lot more complicated. Model is in colors of Yak-17 preserved in Monino,Russia museum. |

You did a great job. A nice clean model, that looks great too.
I love the old Soviet jets. Gary

Thanks guys.
You know Rata ,it takes a nut in engine compartment to keep model level and another nut to build one in the first place. |

You did a great job, nice work. I built that same kit myself years ago (Feb 2012 to be precise). To the stock kit I added diagonal landing gear struts/supports, an exhaust cone, an antenna mast and wires, and an overhead rear view mirror to the top of the canopy. Definitely needs weight in the nose.

You are right about the model not being correct. Looks off scale sort of.
However, this is a fun build and why not. I built the Modelik Yak 17, 17W trainer as well as the Yak-23 in silver. All are better representation, but the rendering of those models is basic and rather dull. All need a repaint. I think a green colored Yak-17 would be nice. Isaac
