Besson MB-411, Wagner Models

I decided to take a little break from building the USS Maine and build this little float plane, I figured it would be quick. It took an inordinate amount of time, mainly because I don't build a quickly as I used to and try to overthink things.

This is nicely designed and every thing fits well with the exception of the cowling which on my build may have been to small or I built the engine to big, you can decide for yourself. Anyhoo it was a quick fix which only required wrapping a piece of paper around the engine to get a new circumference and re-printing it (and its components) to fit. My biggest problem was I kept knocking the floats loose and was continually re-gluing them. There is nice detail in the cockpits and the engine and it was all-in-all a good project with nice results.

Looks great Mike. That's the trouble with angular looking aircraft- they look simple but usually turn out to be the opposite!

Outstanding work! I'm glad to see this interesting French floatplane built. Always glad to see a Wagner model.

Very beautiful model.I build one cowling designed much like this and it came out worse than yours despite being much larger.

I never heard of this plane. In those days you could easily trust French to build a contender for "weird and unusual things that fly" award.

I think I still have Fly Model Sarcouf sub that carried this little guy.

Thanks for the nice complements.

I found that on this type of cowling you need to aggressively shape the front bend and of course use small joining strips to hold the petals together.
