Great work on the Ba.65. I have always liked the look of that airplane. Someday, I will try again at Zio's model. The wing alignment previously defeated me, but with Pericles' very clear explanation, I might do better next time.
Meanwhile, I am glad that you are continuing with this project, Pablo. Don |

Great work Pablo! But 1/400 is a real challenge! I'm glad the explanation about wing build of Zio kit is useful.
Best regards! |

Thanks Don and Pericles:
Yes I want to continue with the project. Next one is very likely to be a Potez, hopefully soon. |

Potez 25
Dear All:
I hope you are enjoying the Holidays. While there are well documented information on the Potez 25 operated in Indochina I could not fine any definitive scheme for the aircraft in Levant. So this is a conjetural scheme with a yellow tail. Technically it should be the TOE (Foreign Theater of Operation) with an additional conformal tank in the belly (which would increase about 500 microns at this scale, and about 2 mm in 1/100). The Potez 25 was barely 30 km/h faster than the WWI Bristol F.2 and with a similar armament. The Potez was a great sale success with at least 90 variants and many were constructer under license taking part in many conflicts including the Great Chaco War. Also there are some pictures with some comparison with concurrent combatants in the war in Levant. Last edited by wireandpaper; 12-27-2020 at 04:51 AM. |

The Potez 25 was a good-looking airplane. Your model captures the look very well, Pablo.
I don't want to cause a diversion from your thread, but your Potez model reminded me that one of my Christmas gifts from Lil was John Jordon's annual Warship 2020 (Oxford UK: Osprey Publishing, 2020). The lead article is a design history by Jordon himself of the French aircraft carrier Béarn. The carrier's air group at any one time (or over the years) would make an interesting project, although very few of the aircraft appear to be available in paper: Fighters: 1925-1932: Dewoitine D.1 1932-1938: Wibault 74 (3 aircraft available in 1/33 as a Marek model) 1938: Dewoitine 373 and 376 (376 available from Bruno) Reconnaissance: 1927-1930: Levasseur PL.4 1931-33: Levasseur PL.10 1933-1939: Levasseur PL.101 (available from Bruno) 1939: Loire-Nieuport 401 (411 available from Bruno) Bombing/Torpedo: 1930-1939: Levasseur PL.7 1939: Vought V156 F (available in Aéronavale markings from Roman Vasyliev). Rescue/Utility seaplane: CAMS 37A Don |

Thank you Pericles and Don
Don, please be my guest, as you may have notice the obscure subjects is my thing. Somewhere in my garage there is a Bearn in 1/400 in pl....c. And if you find more interesting topics please feel free to drop by and share them here. I have not being strict about the subjects including a few Italian and German planes! And I am planning to do a Blenheim Mk I, which I really like, instead of the Mk IV that took part in Operation Exporter. I also need to thank Chicharrero that has been helping me during the research. |

Impulse Modeling
Dear All:
Although I try to have a program to reduce my to do list, sometimes I just can't. For example I was cleaning my paper and electronic files and I stumbled with Monsieur E Farman F190, then I went to browse the net and I found that at least two planes served during the Vichy regimen, one in metropolitan France and one in Indochina. And I thought what about Levant? Well no information so I may do a conjetural scheme. And the plane was used everywhere so I may retain the Air France colors with a few twists. But Pericles may do a straight forward Indochine version, if he pleases. There are a few free versions in 1/100 at Le forum en papier by Monsieur E, and other versions in 1/48 and 1/66. ps: If you happen to have any information of a F190 in levant during the Vichy regime please let me know |

getting closer
I guess, the Farman 190 is getting closer which could be like the Air France from Marseille sans immatriculation / without registration and yellow tail and a tricolore.
As I mentioned this is guesstimation since I have no info on this plane on Levant but it is likely that some were there. The recolor with the registration is based on info found in decals from a re$1n model in 1/72. |
