Thank you for yet another interesting post.
I am an ardent follower of your thread. The topic and many of the aircraft featured coincide with some of my own interests. I especially liked your coverage of the east African campaign. ( the SAAF Ju-86, etc.) Regarding the RWD-13, I am wondering about the JR- part of the code on the tail fin. Other profiles (not of the same aircraft) indicates YR- which is the aircraft registration prefix for Romania. |

Facinating subject and nice model for a very historical airplane.

Thank you Sepp10 and Pericles for stoping by.
Sepp10, you are right! Sorry I didn’t check, I got carried away with the finding. The substitution of the J for the Y may be an unconscious transliteration from a Romance Language to a Slavic Language. Originally, I wanted to do the white version or the green version with the red crosses. But since I found this readily available, I went ahead without much thinking. Oh well, sometimes I wish I had the discipline of Pericles regarding his construction schedule! You may find the skins here: RWD 13 -my new old school plane - RC Groups |

Fighting the wrong enemy, fighting with the wrong ally
Dear All.
As I mentioned before this may not be exactly the better place for this information, but we are talking fighting the wrong enemy, and maybe as bad, fighting with the wrong ally. This may had been the case of Hungary and Romania siding with the Axis. The Hungarians used the Reggiane Re.2000 or the licensed MÁVAG Héja. Due to a potential conflict between Hungary and Romania over Transylvania (yes it does exist!), Hitler was unwilling to provide fighter planes to them. I do not know if Romanian and Hungarian contingents fought together but here they are with their frenemies. The model is by Edi designed in 2008 and originally in 1/72 scaled down to 1/400, and at the moment lacks the air intakes. Does anyone know Edi? ps: By the way, vittorio_veneto loaded a very similar plane in 1/150. Reggiane 2000 Falco 1:150 |

Frenemies!
Thank you Pericles and Garry for stopping by and your kind words.
A Heja sharing an airfield with an RWD-13 and a He-112. The later also designed by Edi. This could happen at my desk but unlikely in the field. |

Great little diorama. We can make interesting [a]historical events happen in paper.

Thank you Don. Although I usually do not repeat the same plane. I am very, very tempted to do Gerry’s Mavag Heja II adaptation of Bruno’s Re.2000, and add it to the list along with the Bruno's Potez 63 and 65 from Vichy.

This is not a “What-If” but a “Why-Not”
Here is the Reggiane Re.2000 by Edi and Bruno’s Re.2000 reinterpreted by Gerry as a Mavag Heja II accompanied by one Escadrila Albă’s RWD-13. I checked and both Hungarian and Romanian armies were near Stalingrad. The “why-not” includes a soviet mobile air controller truck. The later is inspired by a model I saw in another polymer modeling site. Although I have not found any photographic evidence, it is plausible that such vehicle existed and captured by the Axis forces. ps: and why-not mounted forces.
