Ilyushin IL-14 Cubana

Here's my recently completed model. It was my little dream to build an old Cubana propliner and I finally did it.
Model is my friend's repaint(with my small corrections) based on Gerry1966's IL-14.
I've resized it to an unknown scale. Fuselage is 11cm long.

Hope you'll like this one.
Enjoy the photos.

Very nice work Kacper.

I like prop liners from that era too, just not enough to build them.Aaron is working on Convair 240, incredibly similar design to Il-14 (and also flown by LOT).That I'm looking forward to it.

Magnificent work on a beautiful plane. The line planes of those distant years were fantastic, good to see you build one of them again.

The length of IL-14 is 22.3m according to Wikipedia, so if the length of the model is 11cm as given, the scale is thus 1/202.

Thanks Karol, Sergio, papermate and Kevin!

Karol, thanks for letting me know about Aaron's Convair 240. I've been waiting for this plane, so I'll keep my eyes open. You're right that these planes were also flown by LOT. I'd love to build a Polish one in paper too.

papermate, thanks for the scale. One of my calculations said something similar but I could not believe the B-17(I have a French one in 1/200) is almost in the same size as IL-14. I went to wikipedia and looks like it's true. Quite hard to believe.

Kevin, I'm glad to hear you like the display base. The idea of it had been in my head for a very long time. I was ready to start this whole project one year ago but unfortunately, there were no Cubana propliners available in paper back then.

If I'm not mistaken majority of old Kranich models are in public domain now, that includes excellent Il-14.It has been redrawn few years ago and published on German paper models forum but I don't have access to it.Inwald Il-14 is far too complex for me so I would gladly build dusted off Kranich Il.I'm sure you will be curious about it as well Kacper.

Here is original one on official Kranich page.
