Cool Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33

After some break in building, I have started work on a new kit from the Polish company called WAK.

The kit caught my eye due to the colorful yellow and black identification stripes used during the British / French / Israeli fiasco called operation Musketeer in 1956.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Musketeer_(1956)

This is an elegant fighter plane which I built years ago in paper at 1:50 scale as well as plastic models.

The kit:
Here are a few pages from the kit.

Only comment is that it appears to be overly complicated for a tubular fuselage, but I will see later.

I also got the laser frames

and a canopy:

As an additional reference, here is a link to a completed model on a Polish site.

I did not see a building log for the kit yet.

I'll post pics a bit later.

It's a beautiful model,no doubt there.Sometimes I wonder if designers are being paid from number of parts as some of them seem to be going into extraordinary lengths to make simple shapes insanely complicated.

And then Yoav designs something like A-4 or F-16 and makes them all obsolete

Good luck with build.I'll be peeking over your shoulder.

The Hawker Hunter is a very elegant aircraft, should be interesting to see the build thread.

Good luck with this project, Isaac. It's a departure from Soviet jets.

Exclamation Fuselage frames

This has become a typical over design project in which the fuselage is so simple and all parts are round, but there is a ton of framing that the kit provides.

For now, here it is :

frames:

aft framing assembled:

I noted that the sketch showing the aft frame parts have misidentified the locations of parts H, F and G . You will need to put H in the back and F,G forward which is opposite the sketch .

here is the forward framing assembly

and all of the frames

How to use it all will be interesting especially with the protrusions of the vertical tail and side inlet frames protruding.

I am off to the Cincinnati Ohio scale model contest today. I will bring with me 4 models. I'll post separately later on when I return.

Exclamation Fuselage

Here are the forward parts
Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0526.jpg

mid section
Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0527.jpg

aft parts
Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0528.jpg

Note:
This construction calls for the fuselage sections to be glued and joined on the frames. In the past, I found that trying to mate all the joints will be hard. So this method is no good for me. Also, as I stated before, this is such a simple round section fuselage, that it does not need all the elaborate framing.

so.....

I will cut off all the protruding frames like the vertical tail and air inlets.
I will then build the fuselage sections and join without any frames.
I will sand the forward sections to allow me to slip the entire rear framing into the fuselage skins.

Back to the build:
remove the vertical protruding frames

remove the air inlet/wing stubs frames
Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0534.jpg ---> Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0535.jpg

more next

Exclamation fuselage continued

Here are the fuselage sections
Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0536.jpg

build the engine exhaust, however, do not glue on as it will fit after the entire fuselage is done ; also, I need an access hole in the back to push back or out the frames into position
Hawker Hunter F.5 WAK 1/33-img_0537.jpg

start joining the sections
