Curt - my next chapter will be on the Panther in the Korean War !
The Panther only missed some speed against the mig 15 but could dive and kill as well !
Of course the majority of the Mig-15 were claimed by Sabre F-86 Pilots who had a 1:8 kill ratio vs the Mig-15 !

Panther vs Cougar

Dear Sahlom

The only paper model that I know of the
Cougar is the Geli model.
Here are the two models in 1:48 posing next to each other.

Fiddlers has a Cougar; Bruno (Scissors & Planes) has a couple and Ken West did one (not sure about availability of this one.)

YankeeBoy - I meant to 1:33 scale or 1:48.
Scissors & Planes are 1:100 and too small for my liking !
Thanks for stopping !

F-9F Panther vs Yak 23 Flora

The panther was met with Yak fighters driven by propellers but not with the Yak 23 which was exported only to certain east European countries.
The Yak 23 is much smaller airplane than the Panther and is main fire power comprize from 3 x23NR guns. The Panther
has 4x20 mm guns. The yak has a 1.6 ton RR engine while the much heavier Panther
2.8 ton thrust. While the Panther top speed is almost 970 kph the Yak is 870 kph while the lighter weight give him a better climb of 7000 fpm vs 6000 fpm. Also in a tight turndogfight the Yak can turn tighter and has better accelration because of the lower wieght. Both served until 1956 or 1958 respectively.
The Yak is from Mali models while the Panther from Ecardsmodels and both in 1:48 Scale.
will continue - Yair
