Murph's Models D558-1 Skystreak

Gang,

Here's my first completed model since March 11 shoulder replacement. This is Murph's Models D558-1 Skystreak in National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) markings. I downscaled the 1/30 original to 1/48. I also recolored part of the empennage to match the real aircraft. Also added instrument booms from plastic rod.

Great kit to build!

Looks like your shoulder is healing well.Making models is a good exercise. My left thumb is working perfectly due to many models made and I almost lost it all together 20 years ago.

Well fitted model.Nice stand too.

Great job, looks fantastic! The shine is typical of the paper or applied something?

I use HP glossy photo paper for all my builds. Easy (for me, anyway) to work with. If I ever need a flat finish, I'll overspray with clear flat acrylic.

Colored control surfaces really jump out from overall white airframe.
