I.Ae.-24 Calquin,Wagner Models,in 1/50

Greetings.One of Krzysztof's interesting models is this bombing and light attack aircraft designed in my country in 1946.
Designed to replace the Northrop 8A the Calquin (royal eagle) had a very bad reputation, it took the lives of 40 pilots, the Widow maker was his nickname.
The model looks very complete and many details, after a few days cutting cardboard I finished a lot of formers in 1mm.
Tedious, thousands of blade passes, the index finger of my left hand still hurts.
I used a blade of blade, surprising, we know how cardboard destroys the sheets. It worked but I got some very good cuts.
First step the cabin, the lever has some very small pieces and costs a little, I am also very satisfied with the result .
Tonight and tomorrow I will see that I can move forward, on Monday I leave a few days to work in another city and I will not be able to continue until I return.

WOW! That is a heck of a lot of formers. My fingers were killing me too, that's why I switched to balsa wood when I can.

Rear fuselage, composed of nine individual sections, the union system is that of two formers per section, then we join the blocks through the formers.
I never liked this system but here I wanted to try it one more time and it turned out Very good, it was very well coupled.
Even there was no need to adjust any former, the design is extremely precise until here.
The front part will see that it suits me better, this system or that of tie strips.

I agree with you Sergio, I prefer using joiner strips to the butt joint. You're doing a very nice job of the butt joints.

That's a LOT of sections. It's easy to get a banana with so many segments, but you've pulled it off with no problem. Nice work.

Isaac, here he was known as the Argentine mosquito because of his resemblance to the famous British plane, it was even made of wood and some sources say it was designed to carry the Merlin engine, but not being able to acquire them, he opted for a Pratt & Whitney of lower performance.
Gary, this union system worked very well here, but I prefer the tabs without a doubt.
Don, I had distrust in the alignment, controlled it by coupling each section but keeping some small marks up and joining the Rings in the belly in line the alignment is great.
