The Mig 23 was developed as a successor to the Mig 21 . As history proved of all the 5000 built only rhe Syrian airforce still operate the type while 15 users still operate the Mig -21. The reason is simple ! the 21 is a better plane and much easier to miantain without all the swing wing complexcity.
The Mig 21 had a lot of upgrades as the Bison in India and is still pose a treat in his latest versions.
while the Mig 21 entered service 10 Years earlier than the 23 it was produced even later than the Mig 23 in China as the F-7 Version for instance. While both had similar performance the Mig 23 mach 2.35 against mach 2.05 of the 21 is unsignificant and the 21 is more nimble in dogfights and carry the same missiles and in tbe Bison the Israeli Elta radar give him a clear advantage in BVR dogfights
( behond visual range ).
All in all the 21 BIS is the better plane !!!

One model is the E - models and the second is Mali model arz. The Mali model was reduced to 1:48.
The mali model was the Polish version that included parashoot housing at the back for shorter landings.

Your Mig collection is great Yair. I don't remember well, with some Sukoi something similar to Mig-23 happened? That turned out to be complex and inferior to the one I had to replace, I think, I'm not sure.

The Mig 15 -17-19-21-23 series are the most ever produced fighters . The Mig -15 is the most produced jet fighter and some 20000 were produced by several countries including China.
The Mig -21 is the most produced super sonic fighter and some 11000 were peoduced.
The Mig's participated in many clashes all around the world.
