Mig fighters - mig -15 , 17, 19 ,21,23 1:48

Mig was known for years as the main suppllier of fighter planes in former USSR.
Types like mig 15 ,17,19 , 21 and 23 were well servingď in many airforces for nany years. I will open a chapter for each.
All the models are 1:48 Scale.

Beside holding the record of the most produced jet fighter of all times as more than 15000 were produced the Mig 15 was a very bad surprize to the americans in Korea. A full review on this amazing figther will follow.

Wonderful models of these famous airplanes Yair! These Mig, especially the 17 together with the Mirage and the A-4 are the airplanes that fascinate me the most. Impressive collection!

Very impressive collection, looking for to the review on the 15, apparently the USA were very unhappy with the UK giving a jet engine design to the USSR, despite it being due to a WW2 agreement.

When the mig- 15 appeared in Korea it was a bad surprise for the american p-80 pilots.
The mig was 100 miles faster and more maneuverable then the shooting star. The best plane the US had was the f-86 sabre that was rushed to.the war theater.
At the end of WW2 the Russians captured german documents that showed the swept
wing benefits of higher speed and less drag. Also German scientists and researchers
that work on it were captured.
The Russian had one problem - lack of powerfull enough engine. A Russian delegation visited
Britain RR engine factory. They made an agreement to buy the RR nein engine and won a supply of 50 engines without production documents and one of the delegation's members collected flacks of metal use for turbine productionof the engine.
That was the birth of the mig-15 as the soviet were masters in reverse engineering . In 1947 the mig 15 prototype flew and the rest is history.
The Russian copied the engine and started mass building of it.
The mig -15 proved to have very good rate of climb , high speed and good flying qualities.
Ammunition was 2×23 mm plus 1×37 mm guns.
