The main engine housing in its basic form was ok but the undersides of the intake left a huge gap when viewed from below. that wasn't a big detail defect as the helo would primarily be viewed from above, but it bothered me, so it was refined. also the forward part was too long and needed trimmed and the us star had to be added. so far things are moving along...

adding the detail bits

thanks guys. moving along, the landing gear came with 2 options. One was the gear and shock absorber were a single flat . the other was 2 rolled cylinder parts. the fairing cover for the main gear was lifted from the parent fuselage part enlarged 105 % so it could be bent to cover the upper gear . the main radome was stock and should probably be set aft a smidge more. the landing gear wing rootlets after tweaking and trimming complete the assembly, minus the wheels. the after gear on the seahawk was a dual tire assembly and is a simple tube with the knuckle joint and tires just pressed onto the part.

Glad you're overcoming the fit issues. I know from my own experience upsizing one of Bruno's 1/300 Hueys that separating main fuselage shapes instead of trying to build as a one piece affair usually solves fit problems.

I hear you Garry. There are a couple 1/300 I 's like to convert but it is easier to shrink something that's out there than enlarge one.
towards the finish line, the rest of the detail parts come from the gpm kit, some sort of exhaust deflector, torpedoes and their launching stubs,
some sort of refuel drogue, I think, and of course a bunch of aft sensors and antennae. finally looking like a seahawk.

Congratulations on this challenging first model to be completed in 2020.

Some of my USAWC friends and colleagues flew these SH-60s.

Excellent, it was spectacular despite the complicated start. And all those details are great!
