I had some recent experience with Bruno's Dr.I, and you're absolutely right CMDR- it is a little gem.

Lippish gleiter-bomben fleugzeuge

Next to enlarge is this luft '46 glider bomber. This originally was designed by kampflieger for a website sharkkit.com. it was a freebie on the site that was acquired and built in 1-50 scale. The idea was a human guided glide bomb. it was dropped from a parent bomber probably a ju-88 etc and glided down with either a 500kg or 1000kg bomb. the "pilot" released the bomb on target, but the last part was a bit sketchy. It wasn't clear how he would get away, particularly as he was now behind enemy lines. I guess he could do battle damage assessments first hand, if he survived.
the kit was fairly simple, had a rudimentary interior and a 1000kg bomb.
I simplified the little egg shaped craft by no interior and a 500kg bomb I had left over from the stuka kit. her she is with her 1/50 scale larger brother...

Magnificent, at that time if they created strange things. Excellent work.

thankyou. the germans at the end of ww2 had many strange ideas that actually came to fruition decades later. the tv guided glide bombs, cruise missiles all come to mind.

nakajima kikka

The next project for the incredible shrink ray is the nakajima jen1, "kikka".
Many speculate that this has some german parentage and many stories about the similarities exsist. I've included a couple comparison pics.
The kit was designed by Kampflieger and I believe was 1/50 scale. It is a very detailed kit with an interior separate wing/control surfaces and some weathering. the original was easy to build and fit very well. shrunk down to 1/100 needed a couple mods. I fixed the control surfaces, deleted the wheel wells and generally made it easier to build in 1/100.

F-20 tigershark

Another participant in the downsizing project is the F20 Tigershark. there is one model by a Japanese company called pmodel. they had a unique way of constructing jets with no formers. each part was integrated to the next so the fuselages seemed to flow and hold the shapes fairly well. I tried to shrink the f20 they offered but got hung on on their method and scrapped out at 1/5 of the way. I wanted a 1/100 scale representation and turned to the parent of the real aircraft and Bruno's F5e tiger.
The basics of the F20 was an upgrade to the F5 series. It would have been the F5G. the dual engines were replaced by a large single engine, the avionics majorly upgraded which in the end placed the F20 out of the intended market, foreign sales. Here are the first pics, unfortunately the actual construction pics were lost, here is the Pmodel with the finished F20 conversion...

the conversion...F5E to F20

here are some pics of how to make a passable F20. The F20 had a multirole capacity with the major upgrades being able to fire the aim 7 sparrow and later the amraam series of AIMs. Also the ground attack capabilities included use of maverick AGMs and other precision munitions.
The S&P F5E swiss model served as the platform conversion. Everything forward of midwing was stock E model. Where the midwing begins on the e model instead of creasing the fuselage to fit the twin engines start to form it into a horse shoe like shape eventually ending in a more or less circular/oval shape. I had to alter the upper fuselage fairing widening it from midwing to aft only slightly. The air intake below the rudder and tail exhaust cones were scratch built. they fit over the altered parts with no fuss. There is a wing/fuselage set of strakes I call them that start from the wing root and proceed aft short of thee xhaust nozzle. these support the stabilizers.the have little antennae doodads on them which were scratch built also. The conversion went very well with very little redesign...

F20 finished pics

all this ended up with a passable F20 for my collection. I elected to
make this model into a ground attack version with maverick missiles and a couple rockeye cluster bombs for light armor interdiction. I added the munitions in basic airforce colors instead of subdued gray as the model still had demo colors instead of an airsuperiority/camo scheme...

Magnificent works. The similarity with the 262 is remarkable, the difference is the wings, the rest is practically the same. And the conversion of the F-5 turned out great, the result is very good. Magnificent works again!

Your rapid-fire posts are sometimes hard to keep pace with CMDR. But as usual, top work.
