Thanks guys, just for you Garry a UH-60 standard/basic Blackhawk. I needed to retest the altered geometry of the seahawk so I quick build an army Blackhawk. taking some tips from you Garry, the pitch struts on the rotor head are 0.5mm pencil leads.

Safe bet to say you've pretty much conquered this subject sir.

Those pencil leads are handy for a range of applications in 1/100. Gun barrels, landing gear components, refuelling probes and now you've shown another use for them. Try rolling paper into .7mm dia tubes......

This is the first of the 2020 crop of builds this year. It is the Tempest Mk2. The original 1/33 scale model was by Maly modelarz and was built in 2005 I think. It was a simple kit but was lost in action by either the move from Delaware to pa or some other act of the gods. I included it to the downsizing program because it was one of the earlier larger kits. There isn't any build pics, this was a simple kit went together well, one of Bruno's later offerings, came with landing gear and great details, here she is...

Thanks guys. Next one of the lost originals is the Arado AR196A3 floatplane. This was the standard floatplane for most German ships large enough to carry them. The A3 was the latest and most armed version of this versatile aircraft. it was armed with up to 4-5 8mm mgs. some had larger 13mm cannons I believe in the wings, one 8mm on the fwd starboard fuselage and 1 or 2 8mm on a float swivel for the rear gunner/observer. Bruno's kit goes together fairly well, but a few details were added. On the engine cowling the cooling fin bulges were added by doubling up the small (1.5 x 2.5 mm ) parts. The fwd mg mount was the part outline double with a slight burnish bulge applied and a 3mm piece of lead (once again thanks Garry) for the barrel. on the fwd float strut 3 steps were added once again 3mm lead. The rear mg was borrowed and modified from Marek's Ju52 kit. the barrel once again lead with paper wrapped around for the mg receiver. the most complicated area was the float mounts and struts which required a bit of trim. The rigging on the float mounts was brush bristles, Thanks Michael S. Here it is and on to the last few kits to be downsized...

As usual CMDR, your work is a pleasure to look at. I've got Bruno's Ar.196 offerings, but like countless others they're waiting they're turn buried in the stash.

Thanks Garry. Thanks to your tip the details I originally left off some of the kits are now do able. the next couple kits on the list are other designer kits shrunk down to 1/100. I have the F20 tigershark, Grumman guardian, and Nakajima Kikka, to build as well as an obscure luft 46 kit. Shrinking these kits cause me a little apprehension as the full scale kits were a little fiddly to start with. For Bruno's kits I have the Mig 15, A4 Skyhawk, a f21 seahornet and scimitar to build. Then on to other projects.

Next up is the Fokker Dr1. If there is one aircraft that comes tomind when you think of the Red Baron, the Fokker Dr1 triplane is it. Years ago I built the Maly version in 1/33. It was my First WW1 aircraft, The V8 was laterin my build career. Bruno's 1/100 scale is a little gem. After reviewing the aircraft a day thread it seems all his WW1 offerings build up very well.
There was minimal rigging, but this is a good start on getting better at this.
The 8mm spandaus were tweaked a little and the cylinders needed a little haircut to fit into the cowling. I added the little wing skids under the bottom wing. made the leather cockpit combing a little thicker, and made the wheels pop out a little better. here she is with her big 1/33 scale brother.
