thank you all, guys. As for eclectic it sure is. the great things about this scale is there are so many options as which way to go, pre WW2, WW1 , cold war, civvy and you can have a finished model in a few days or less. You can build an entire series with variations and wander from there.

picking up where i left off
the last of the conversions of other scale to 1/100 is Sumato's Grumman Guardian. At 1/33 it was a pretty large model and highly detailed. The kit was simply shrunk with all the finicky innards left out, and armed with Bruno's rockets from one of his typhoon kits or there abouts.
The guardian was the largest single piston engined plane of the navy. It was built as an attack aircraft and could carry rockets bombs torpedos and depth charges, sometimes it operated in pairs with a radar equipped gaurdian as a hunter seeker pair. You can now get both on ecards from atvars a very excellent designer in 1/100 scale. the last pic shows the size diff from 1/33 to 1/100 |
