1/100 scale T-9 Whippet
There's this game called VRChat I've been playing recently. Partially for its social aspect, and partially for its community of aviation enthusiasts. People from the community create numerous worlds with flyable aircraft, one of which is the T-9 Whippet, a made up design based on the T-2 Buckeye (it's also been shrunk, with T-2 being ~12m long whereas T-9 with the same proportions is 9.1m long). Of all the options I've flown T-9 the most and gradually fell in love with it. And so, at some point I thought why not try and make it into a papercraft so that I could appreciate its beauty away from the game.
The structure was heavily inspired by Scissors & Planes models which I adore. The texture though was my first ever attempt of creating one. All my previous original works had their texture drawn with a pencil after assembly, haha. A few errors were made in the process due to which I had to assemble the model 5 times (5th being the last, successful attempt) only to discover an issue in the process. But the final result came out much better than I had hoped for. Here are a few pictures. The way it looks in-game: For those willing to give it a try, I have uploaded both pdf and svg files to my google drive (I hope it's allowed here, should I have uploaded it to the download section instead?). Planning to also make a short tutor video on how it was assembled later. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the model and potential ways you think it could be improved. |

Thank you Tigertony and Rata! I'd love to see some pictures if you do : )
Here's the promised tutor video: 1/100 scale T-9 Whippet papercraft assembly tutorial - YouTube It's a little basic, but should work to clarify a few points.
