Fokker D-II 1/32nd (Marek's Models)

All,
Here is another one I've started and it's going along very well. I always liked the early Fokkers and this one does not disappoint. Really all that's left is the rest of the struts, rigging and wheels! More soon...Dan

All that's left is the rigging and some fiddly bits!
Cheers,
Dan

Fokker D-II (Marek's Models 1/33rd) Finito!

Thanks, Wyvvern! And here she is all done! I went a little crazy on the airbrushing but I did see photos of these things looking pretty ratty. Although, I saw a shot of the actual machine this one is modeled from and it was spic and span...even shiny! So much for that. I only saw that after I'd weathered the whole machine. I still like it.

The model is "out of the box" except for turned balsa wheels, the fuselage formers were made from 1/32nd balsa and I put the wing skins over some balsa sheet sanded to an airfoil. Oh...I also added an aftermarket gun site!
Finally, I airbrushed with various shades and streaks to give the model some depth and character. I really like it and want to make a Halberstatd D-II to go with it!

Thanks for looking and cheers,
Dan

Very nice job, Dan. The weathering looks great, I like it.

What did you use for the rigging? It looks nice and taunt.

I think it looks great. The weathering really brings it to life.
