Skyhawk A-4Q, Armada Argentina, S&P in 1/100
Greetings.
To start the year I decided to do something special for me because these A-4 bring me many memories. This is the first of 6 versions of Bruno that will be interspersed with other projects. The model is great, many details for a 1/100 and there are few simple parts, this A-4 is quite complicated. Use 75grs paper, in Banshee and Sagittarius the paper was 108grs.The 75 is better for me although it is much more delicate. I think I put everything where it goes, there optional parts for the wings but I didn't want to complicate myself anymore, that will be in the next ones. We have to look for a lot of information because only Bruno knows where and how each piece goes. Something about the WIP, fuselage, here is the easiest, everything goes very well , a small mismatch in the danger marks on the air intakes. |

Wings and tail, for the tail a former manufactures because in the root it is wide and it becomes easier to place it well.

And in the belly there is a lot of work, floodgates, supports, shock absorbers, hook, rails, deposits. The probe is painted wire, I add it will be antennae in the tail.

And before seeing the model finished a little history. In 1970 Argentina buys 16 A-4B, the Tulsa company remotorizes them with the J65-W-20 and they are called A-4Q. December of 71, our aircraft carrier ARA 25 of May travels to the USA to look for the Skyhawks, they are part of the third aircraft hunting and attack squadron (3EA). During the conflict they operate from the base of Rio Grande, carrying out 39 missions, sinking the HMS Ardent and Antelope frigates, losing 3 The 5/21/82 six 3EA devices attack the fleet in the San Carlos Strait, 3-A-307 and 3-A-312 impact 227kgs bombs on the Ardent. Minutes after 3-A -307 is shot down by Harriers and the CC Philippi pilot is ejected, nothing about 500mts, walks three days and locals find him. The next day a helicopter removes him from the farm. This is the story of this plane. And now the final photos , I'm super satisfied, I think it's my best 1/100 and good way to start the year.

That looks fantastic! It's funny I am at my computer repainting Bruno's Skyhawk into Jester's A-4 from the movie Topgun.

Another great build, Sergio. That fuselage has a complex shape.

Wow. This looks really fantastic. I'm completely stunned because I know that this plane is a very difficult model, especially in 1/100 scale, without any instruction. So, huge congratulations, my friend! You've done something wonderful.
But that's not everything. You also gave us small historical description and some very instructive tips and photos. That's always much appreciated too.
