Yakovlev Yak-40 Polish Airlines LOT - Marek

Hello

Saw this on Ecards, always wanted to build a Marek kit, also I liked the look of this aircraft. No real challenges during construction.

Kit can be found here:

Beautiful work. Impressively clean and neat.

Nice work, Niki. You did a great job with that nose. It would have been the end of me.

Does the kit have optional separate flaps and control surfaces? Will be really impressive

This is awesome... I have these kits and it's nice to see an actual build. Maybe someday I'll build one. I consider myself a collector of paper models first and foremost so most of my collection probably will never be assembled; but it's so nice to see fully assembled examples.

Nope, all integral. Would have been impressive though. I might need to build another. I love the utilitarian look of the Russian/Soviet planes.

I spent some time in Almaty airport in Kazakstan. There were lots of Yak-40 aircraft all over. Interesting aircraft. Never understood why 3 engines. But it was a rugged jet. Capable of operating off grass fields
