No. 11 Link Trainer Flight Simulator

The No. 11 model in this series touches one theme which is not fully covering at all: Pilots Training.
The Link Trainer holds a significant place in aviation history. It was the first true flight simulator, providing safe and realistic training of thousands of student pilots since the 1930's.

Edward A. Link (1904-1981) works at his father's factory when he received his pilot's license; and Link began thinking about better ways to instruct student aviators. He designing and build a "pilot trainer" which he patented in 1931.

The trainer provided a truly realistic depiction of flight. The controls and instruments were identical in appearance and operation to those in real aircraft, and conditions such as icing and turbulance could be simulated. Full 3-axis movement was achieved by the use of pneumatic bellows for roll and pitch and a motorized turntable for turning. Lessons were supervised by an operator who sat at a nearby desk. The operator could simulate weather conditions and radio beacons, as well as transmitting instructions to the student pilot. In addition, an ink plotter on the desk would automatically mark the student's flying path on a map to assist in navigation training.

When the second World War brought about the need to train large numbers of new pilots the Link Trainer came into truly widespread use. Basic instruction in the "blue box" before proceeding to actual flight provided incalculable savings in time, money and lives. By the end of the war thousands of trainers had been built for use by the american, British and Commonwealth armed forces. Even today some of these early trainers are used to teach instrument flying.

The Link Trainer arrives to Mexico immediatly after the WWII ends, they came with the first batch of P-47 Thunderbolts; and were installed at the Colegio del Aire in Zapopan, Jalisco and they served well until mid 1980's.

I recolored Currel's Graphics Link Trainer and constructed in the scale provided by Ralph Currel which is 1/24 and printed in 125 gr/m Opalina Paper. Best Regards, Tigertony100.

hi modelers
I have returned after a very hard time of work and under quarantine because of the COVID-19 but I am fine.
Check your comments and saw that they mentioned me for the TP-01 787-8 Dreamliner Presidencial.
I still have him in a few hours I post this great model. I have not worked at the papercraft, because I have worked to reveal photographs of great events of the Ejercito Mexicano.
I send you a small sample.
great tony models and hope you are well.
Regards

nice photo although that reminds me of a horrible event that happened in colombia when 2 soldiers were hanging by a rope where a flag was and it fell down killing the two soldiers

I saw that event, it was very unfortunate to see how people used instead that there are more and safer ways to do that type of maneuver, I hope and everyone is fine with the coronavirus quarantine

Hello Modellers! It was not until the third attempt that the F5-E acrobatic scheme was aligned. I upscaled the 1/300 version to 1/100 and recolored it.
And once I was with the F-5E I also started with the 1/100 paid version, which as you can see is misaligned as well. Let's see if it needs three attepts as well.I need to assemble the landing gear and the auxiliary ventral tanks. Also finish with the camouflage versions; both single-seater and two-seater. The two-seater version has a different "duckbill" nose. I found the solution in Brent's thread when he was building his MiG-23s. I'm sending right now the PDF files to all the modellers who has posted here before and to my friends. If one of you needs this recolor just PM me and I send you a PDF file. Best Regards, Tony.

Very flashy F-5.I didn't know FAM had those in aerobatic team.

On other note that color scheme reminds me of Pakistani Air Force farewell F-6 Farmer.I was going to make that recolor from Aarons Mig-19.Maybe I should go back to it,those colors look really good on your models

That's a very colourful scheme. At first I thought it was a Pakistani JF-17 in similar colors.
