No.13 Lockheed C-130 K-C1 Hercules
Lockheed C-130 turboprop freighters belonging to the 302 Air Squadron (EA) of the Mexican Air Force.
Those in the image are the two most recently acquired specimens, in the year 2001, when four C-130K C1 and C3 (the C3 with the longest fuselage length) previously operated by the Royal British Air Force (RAF) arrived. The FAM has acquired 17 of these military freighters over time until today, the first arriving in 1987, to gradually complement and replace the Douglas C-47 and DC-6 freighters. Therefore, 10 second command units (former USAF) were acquired from the United States, all of the initial version C-130A, built in the 1950s and some already stored for almost a decade when our government acquired them. Before joining the FAM, these first machines were modified, as some still used motors with three-bladed propellers and even used the cone of the short nose known as Roman, typical of the first Hercules, changing to the current one, which houses the antenna of a weather radar. They arrived painted in an attractive camouflage scheme from their previous operator, known as EuropeOne, in three shades (two green and one gray) with the titles F.A.M. in the empennage and registration both here and under the cockpit. Here the tricolor rudder would be painted soon. They were registered 10601 to 10610, of which, apparently, the 10607 machine would be left ashore as a source of spare parts for the rest of the fleet and assigned to the 310th Heavy Transport Air Squadron (EATP 310). Interestingly, the 10601 machine was the fourth Hercules built on the assembly line by Lockheed, making it the oldest operational C-130 in the world until its decommissioning a few years ago. A short time later his scheme would undergo a variation, adding the titles to the sides FUERZA AÉREA MEXICANA but losing its tricolor rudder, some had the nose like in black. Furthermore, the 10609 machine would be painted in a scheme similar to other FAM transports, in white with gray and a dark blue stripe in the shape of lightning and a black nose. This same machine 10609 would become part of the presidential fleet, so its blue lightning stripe would be eliminated and thin golden and light blue horizontal stripes would be painted, as well as its titles would also be painted in light blue and finally re-registered TP-300 / XC-UTP. In 1997-1998, the EATP 310 disappeared, becoming EA 302 (which is still in use today) and the registration of these devices would change from 3601 to 3610. It was then that, given the situation of having everal machines inoperative, a eleventh unit, from the parastatal Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), registered 3611 (formerly XC-EXP). This aircraft, an L-100-30, civilian version with an elongated fuselage had been purchased new in 1980. It is recognized for having no external fuel tanks under its wings. It was around this time that the entire fleet was painted in a dark green outline (two variations of that color have been seen) and the titles and nose in black which remained until recently. As they are very old machines, by the end of the 90s, almost all were decommissioned and replaced with more second-hand units, but from different origins, in 2001 two C-130E units arrived that had previously operated with the Israeli Air Force (IAF) and four C-130K C1 and C3 previously operated by the British RAF that can be identified because they bring the external fuel tanks between the engines and the last four also because they have an aerial refueling pole. The first two would be registered 3612 and 3613 and the last four 3614 to 3617, being the last two (3616 and 3617) those that in 2014 would be modernized with digital instrumentation coupled with an overhaul that will prolong their useful life for at least a decade and a half. more and that they would be painted in dark gray in 2015 in Canada. Also in 2014, the 3611 machine (ex PEMEX) would be shipped to the United States for major maintenance, returning in August 2017 and being shipped back to Canada for modernization with digital instrumentation. Likewise, the two machines 3612 and 3613 ex Israelites, were decommissioned. A few years ago the FAM requested a budget for the acquisition of one to two C-130J SuperHercules, but apparently the resource was not assigned. Unfortunately two machines would be lost over time, the 3610 in 1999 in the state of Hidalgo and the 3603 in 2003 in the state of Zacatecas, claiming the lives of 5 and 6 crew, respectively. On the other hand, fortunately two complete machines remain, the 3601 in the facilities of the Military School of Specialist Troops of the Air Force (EMTEFA) and the 3606 in the road leading to the entrance of the Air Base I build this S&P C-130 K-C1 Hercules with the mods made by cafe in a 1/150 scale and with 125 gr/m2 opalina paper. I scratchbuild the refueling pole and the wing tanks came from a 1/33 kit and the landing gear came fron Paper Replika Hercules. The next Hercules will be the C-130 K-C2 Stretched version with Grey Color as she is at today; but it will be until September more or less. Now it's time for me for doing my Pilates... , sorry, I mean Pilatus. Best Regards, Tigertony100 |

Beautiful model Tony
Certainly you did a great job with this Hercules, nevertheless i see something to be corrected and that is nose gear landing door, the Hercules nose gear door is one piece door that slides backwards when landing gear is down as you can see in real airplane pictures.

Thank you modellers for the feedback!! As for the Boeing 787 TP-01 Presidencial plane, there is uploaded by John 401. I thank he was working on a S&P model not an Odball Productions plane. Well, there is nothing I can do. Lack of communication.
I'm going to finnish the S&P model of TP-01. Although not a FAM Heli, this is the scheme that the Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk has for the new Guardia Nacional. One more scheme to do! The Fairchild-Dornier jet plane has the same scheme. I'm going to ask Master Rocket Builder Jan Kytop where can I download the Electron Launcher who put on orbit the Painani I nano-satellite from SEDENA for doing it. Best Regards, Tony. |

Hello modellers. This is the new livery for the former PFP Boeing 727 in Guardia Nacional livery. This was former black-colored, but Policia Federal was disolved and many of his material went to the new Guardia Nacional.
My version of the Mil Mi-26 it's taken shape. The advance is at 10%. I think I'll get it about at October, still full fuselage to build, panel lines, alignment, rotor blades, etc. This test version is made out with very thin paper, regular copy paper. Best Regards, Tony. |

No.14 Vultee BT-13 Valiant
48 BT-13s and 10 BT-15 Valiant arrived in 1943 with which flight training was conducted for the pilots of that time in the EMA (Escuela Militar de Aviación), which consisted of primary training in the Fairchild PT-19 Cornell, basic training in the Valiant , and advanced training on the North American AT-6 Texan that had been owned since 1942. I build this model as Bruno offers it in FAM scheme BrNr. 2841 in a 95 gr/cm2 Opalina paper. I tried to install antenna wire but intents were fruitless. Best Regards, Tony. |
