Fuerza Aérea Mexicana / Mexican Air Force

I start and open this thread to show airplanes and helicopters from the Air Force of my country: Mexico. The vast majority will be Scissorsandplanes models. I hope to follow the next guideline, a historical model, a transport model, a current one and a helicopter. I hope I can adjust to this pattern. I start with something iconic in my country: Mexico's participation in World War II.
1.- Fuerza Aérea Expecicionaria Mexicana-Mexican Expeditionary Air Force.
After Germany sank about 11 oil ships in the Gulf of Mexico, the State of War between Mexico and the axis powers was declared. It was concluded that the best way to do it would be with an air contingent. For which the Grupo de Perfeccionamiento Aéreo (Air Refinement Group) was created and as a base the Squadron 201. In Pocatelo, Idaho began receiving training in the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. Due to winter weather conditions in Idaho, it was decided to relocate Squad 201 at Camp Majors in Gleenville, Texas. It should be noted that the training was carried out by WAAF women. The same machines used at Idaho were ferried to Texas to continue with the training.
The first model represents one of the 17 machines used by the Air Improvement Group in Gleenville, Texas. These planes only had 6 machine guns. During the training the Group lost two pilots in two accidents.

Interesting history and very nice build. One small correction: the city is Greenville, Texas, east of Dallas. Camp Majors is long gone, but Majors Field is the city's municipal airport.

If you're ever in town, Ernie's Pit Barbecue offers some GREAT barbecue....

Thank you all for the feedback, including Lfuente with your supporting images and dhanners for the correction data about Greenville, Texas.
We continue with the FAEM: After completing the training in Texas, the 300 man contingent left for San Francisco to sail on the ship Fairisle to the Philippine Islands. Arriving at Clark Field, in Porac, Pampanga at the north of Manila on the 1st of May, 1945. Squad 201 was incorporated to the 5th. Air Force, within the 58th. Fighting Group. They started flying in loaned Republic P-47-D21 Razorbacks version.
The color scheme was as follows: the entire body in natural aluminum, antiglare panel along top of fuselage, with the empenage and the leading edge of the wings in white, which was the identification of all American aircraft in the Pacific. The rudders were painted in the pre-war red, white and blue stripes. Two horizontal stripes in the cowling; one black stripe and the other stripe with the color of the Squad. The colors for the cowling stripes were red for the 69 FS, black for 311 FS and blue for 310 FS. Black invasion bands 27 inches wide in the fuselage and wings. Squadron Leaders wore double bands.
The two models show machines lent to 201st. Squad. The majority of this airplanes had been writing off, but FAEM Mechanics put it on service again.
The plane with red stripe in the cowling started as a building test made out of 75 gr copy paper, but it went out very well. The other plane was build with 125 gr paper.
Best Regards, Tigertony 100.
