Hello all
Continue with the wings. Internal reinforcement for the wing is a boxed structure from paper with one former in the root and one former at a console root. It wouldn't work in a larger wing, but here it works perfectly well. The winglets - these made me scratch my head trying to decide how to make them. In the end I glued them almost horizontally and then tilted them up. Looks not great at all but this Is the best I could do. Attaching the wings to the body us also quite a deal. There is an internal boxy structure inside the fuselage where the wing is supposed to be attached but there are no beams that go thru the fuselage to create 3d structure to support the wing and prevent sagging Just need to glue the root former to the body This is a pretty light model, I hope no sagging will occur. If yes, I will have to dismantle the wings and use some wooden coffee stirrers to stiffen the structure abit. Then I stared the engines... In all pretty good parts fit. |

I just attached the wings on the Airbus A330 I'm building. It has similar construction. But, I built a wood structure that goes inside the paper beams. Much stronger and will not sag. I used wood coffee stirrer sticks. Isaac

Hello all
A small update - the engines. The fit is almost perfect. Need to be careful with the pylons which are really flimsy until installed |

Hello all. I hope everybody feel well, with all this Corona virus....
A pretty big update today, in one word - finished! After finishing engines, I switched to wheels. I didn't like the way the designer proposed to make the wheels, so I switched to our regular way of laminated cardboard. Did some experiments to find the right thickness and made them. On the pictures, the white lined rectangle is 10x10 mm. |

After the wheels, I switched to flaps and ailerons actuators cowlings. Pretty delicate job, but it's doable

And here comes the hardcore part. The landing gear at 1:120 scale is quite a thing.
Begin with the main struts, simply because these are a bit simpler |

And now the real fun, the front strut.
Many parts, some are like 1mm wide double thickness. Have to be very careful with knives and scissors. Very challenging to me, but I made it |
