Asiana B777 paper Replika repaint
As part of my travel builds ( also known as my Hotel builds ), I am away from home for a few months and am building models I normally do not build at home.
Here is a Boeing 777-200 in 1/150 scale from Paper Replika and repainted by our member Croden and available at our Download section : http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/v...ownloadid=2297 I used to support Asiana airlines as well as Korean Air among others in my capacity as a technical engine program manager for GE engines, so it makes sense that I would build a model of that airline. Unfortunately, Asiana did not select GE engines for this version of the B-777, but I still like their color scheme. The kit: The kit is relatively simple consisting in a circular cross section fuselage and engines and wings that are mounted a bit differently than I am used to. In any case, this is a nice looking model if you are not looking for details. I will build it with no landing gear. Here are some of the parts: Isaac

Fuselage under belly-matching error in repaint.
The underbelly is a 3 piece section that fits nicely. It will later have a cut out for the wing box.
However, the repaint has an error on the bottom as it does not match the fuselage lower color curve. My only location to match the under belly to the fuselage was a marking for a rear emergency door. So I don't think it is me that made the error. here is a picture of an actual plane. Notice the curve behind the wing. Isaac

Wing box and wings
Here is the wing box. It is designed to slide into the opening in the fuselage, however per the sketch in the kit, do not glue it in place since the wings need to slide into the fuselage as well. This is new to me, so lets see how it fits later on.
The wings are slipped in for dry fit only. No gluing. Isaac

Wings attached
I slid the wing box into the fuselage cut out.
I test fit the wings with the tabs going into the fuselage. I added a small sheet of card stock on top to smooth the upper wings the best I could. Not the smoothest fit, but OK. when ready, add small amount of glue to the wing mating sides only inboard ( nothing along the wings. And its on Isaac

Tail surfaces
Only addition was a wood spar and side card for structure on the inside for better support of the horizontal and vertical surfaces.
