DC-2 Winter War by Murphs Models

Done in collaboration with YukonJohn here is recolor of DC-2 Hanssin-Jukka as it likely looked during Winter War .

"Likely" because there are few conflicting accounts of color used on it and some equipment and there are few pictures showing this plane at various times.

One thing I didn't make are bombs. This plane did one bombing run with installed bomb racks and Bofors made bombs supplied by Swedes (bomb design was copied by Finns and produced locally until 1945 to be used on all Ilmavoimat bombers). They looked about like this:

and pictures of a model

Big thanks to YukonJohn for his part of this and to Aaron for making excellent model that just keeps on giving.I will email this to Aaron and it can be purchased on his site.

There were Dc-2 flown in Canada before 1939 but for now I'm thinking of OK-AIB flown by Czechoslovak Airlines . There will also be Hanssin Yukka and in coffee shop camouflage

I've been trying to bribe someone to do RAF used example in Middle East, so far no luck. It's camouflaged in usual ME RAF colors . If someone feels like desert PM me.

Wonderful build and details. All credit goes to Karol for the fine details and markings. I only did the overall background colour which was the easy part.

I'm working on getting it up. I got a severe case of Bronchitis for my birthday, so I've been pretty much floored since then. Who knew that not being able to breathe would affect ones energy levels so drastically?

No worries Aaron. You get there when you get there.Modelers are patient folks.

Google books has a book scanned about Carl Gustaf von Rosen. In it there is a small chapter about Hanssin-Jukka donation with excellent pictures showing armament installed.

Pages 93 on.
