Future builds for first half of 2022.

Well friends, let's show what is printed waiting for the turn to be built.

The first is a trio of Catalinas, among them the first operational version. The Catalina is one of my all-time favorite airboat.

The next one still in the field of seaplanes and within the Midway project is the rare Aichi E11A1 "Laura", this model Aaron designed especially for me because the codename of the E11A1 is the name of my ex, ex wife (at the time he designed it I was still married to her) the divorce took place but not the model, less than 20 units were produced, 5 were based on the Sendai-class super destroyers that were part of the main battle group of the Japanese that was to invade the atoll. I repainted the model hitting the IJN green colors.

Another plane that should appear this first semester is the Aichi D1A2 , the predecessor of the famous "Val" dive bomber. The D1A is based on the Heinkel 66 which ironically was also used by the Chinese Nationalists. Another model I repainted with camouflage from the period of the second incident in China in 1937.

For a change a little helicopter, the Kaman HH-43 widely used in the Vietnam War, and that reminds me of childhood with Revell's plastic kits.

Another subject that reminds me of Airfix kits in my adolescence is the Short Skyvan in Olympic colors, Aaron designed exactly this model a decade ago. Simple apparently, I think I'll have a good time in this build.

Finally, the second version of the B-57 all in black was also used in Vietnam. The first version was demonstrated here building in detail. A simple but very cool model to build.

Smile I'm Back...

Well friends, resuming our long stalled Murphs Models / Oddball model builds, we're working on the general build of a couple of Nosermans, versions not yet released, but soon to be available. What can we say about this model? I have built other versions of this plane in the past. Despite the small size, what we can say is that we have an extremely complex model in our hands, the fuselage has many segments (10!!!) and still has a structure that forms the back of the fuselage. It is impossible to build this model without the formers, which are 6. At the current stage, in order to complete the general construction, we need to insert the wing fillets and the stabilizers. I hope this weekend to fully complete the assembly of the two. What we can say is that it is a classic Aaron model that represents a good challenge and faithfully reproduces this iconic plane.

You have your work cut out for you!

I once built a plastic model of the Swedish Tp78 Norseman. Someday, I hope to build the one in the markings of the aircraft in which Glen Miller was lost.

The Skyvan is on my redraw list. Right now I'm just looking for simple paint schemes to expand the herd.

A few more advances on the Norseman, the main construction of the models is finished, just missing details and a lot of paint touches.
