Murph's Models - Vans RV-6, 1/32
A very eye catching home built plane, the RV-6.
Paper used - photoprint paper. The graphic is terrific but I think that the outline of the eagle's beak may best be thickened and darkened so that the eagle's head stands out better. I used inadvertently the lower fairings of the landing gear struts as the upper fairings but they turned out okay. The struts are strengthened with a wire inside. The said fairings and propeller cone are made from beverage can strips. |

Looks like the airplane that Mike Bauer is flying around in.

While surfing on Murph's webstore, I noticed that something's not right with the Vans RV-6. I mean in the way I built it. The window frame should be facing the rear of the plane and not the front. Just wonder nobody noticed it and pointed out the error. The issue is being fixed and a new set of photos with the corrected canopy will be presented in due course.

Not to be overly critical, but having flown one, the rear fuselage doesn't look like the real thing at all. It should be a single slope all the way from the rear of the canopy until the base of the vertical stabilizer.

The bird is now under major surgery with the rear fuselage cut off.
The last former that caused the problem has been removed. Now confined in ICU under observation for 48 hours. Chance of survival - OK Other issues - scars noticeable most probably and slight loss of dignity. Convalescence most unlikely required. |
