F-2H-2 Banshee build diary images

The fuselage is almost done and parts are very well designed to fit !
A full cockpit will be installed despite not coming with the model.

The fuselage is complete with the exeption of the front part waiting for the pilot compartment before gluing to the rear part which is coming next.

The Banshee always looked good to my eye. You are doing your usual excellent job on this Murph version.

Dear Don thanks - You are right regarding the Banshee as it was a nice fighter that fight in Korea and was
called Banjo by it's pilots.
Because of it's good handling it was good for carrier operations !

Dear Gary - after several fighters that I build with this method of connection between fuselage parts it works real nice.
Also by printing with laser printer I can get good quality of color printing on 160 g white paper.

F-2H-2 Banshee build diary images

After the Skyhawk was completed it is time to continue with the Banshee. The cockpit compartment was installed and the fuselage two parts were connected. The ejection seat will be installed only at the end before
canopy placement.

In the original John Michener's book "The bridges at Toko-Ri", Brubaker the protagonist flies in a Banshee. In the movie this plane was changed for a Grumman Panther. Regards, Tony.

And in reality, the planes used on the mission that the movie was based on were F4U Corsairs.
