F-2H-2 Banshee vs F9F -5 Panther
The two planes are NAVAL and from the same era of early 1950's.
While the Panther had 1 big diameter centrifugal engine the Banshee had two of the slim axial J34. Now for a Naval Jet it is always better to have 2 engines from a safety point of view. But the Panther engine proved quite problem free so this was not a factor here. In terms of performance while speed was mostly the same but climb and service ceiling were in favore of the Banshee which was slightly bigger plane. The Banshee served till 1958 while the Panther was almost the the same in 1957. The Panther model is from Ecardmodels and both in 1:48 scale. Yair |

F-2H-2 Banshee vs F9F-5 Panther more imagesWhile W
The Panther and the Banshee were the two principal jets of the NAVY during the Korea war. while the Panther had 10 victories against Mig -15's the Banshee had none but didn't lose either.
Here I attach another set of images of the two. Yair |
