F-4 Phantom Recommendation Request

Hi guys,

My name is Mike, and I spend the vast majority of my time in the "Real Space" world, but I'd like to branch out a bit.

My favorite all-time A/C is the F-4 Phantom. My Dad worked at McAir when I was a little-bitty guy and I've always had a soft spot for that plane.

Do you have any recommendations for F-4 kits? I've no idea what's available. A Thunderbird or Blue Angel version would be pretty cool, but I'm not picky. Free, as always, is always good, but not necessary.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Mike, aka "WeeVikes"

There is currently a build thread on an F-4 Phantom from GPM on the Spanish Forum.
Maquetas y modelismo en papel - F-4E PHANTOM II (GPM) ESC. 1:33 - Aviones militares

You can always take a look at some paper model stores and search for it>

Not on the same level as a GPM kit, but I find that the Fiddler's Green F-4 is a nice kit for the price.

Here you can get free versions of F-4EJ and RF-4E in Japan Air Self Defense Force livery.

The GPM kits of Double Ugly are nicely done, but hard to find. If you do find one, I think you'll enjoy it. You might want to check YuG's gallery of the wing F-4E at Clark AB at F4E Phantom - Paper Modelers Gallery . The build made POTW - http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/p...th-2009-a.html

I'll echo Rick's thought on the Fiddlersgreen kit. it's pretty accurate for the most part. There are a number of versions. You can even make an entire 6 plane formation of Blue Angels!

The FG site seems down at the moment. Might want to check it later.

Not sure what kind of detail or scale you are looking for. But here is an example of the F4 from Fiddlers Green. There are many different versions and sizes and I know they are working on more to release.

Good Luck

Bob

My opinion - F-4 Phantom from GPM, no doubt.

Maly Modelarz has one but it has to be precise in building or it will turn into a a banana fuselage. If you do get it from Maly, scan the parts in case you need to do a do-over. I built one as a gift to my nephew and it came out out rather well.
