Skyhawk vs Super Etendard
The two have more in common than it first seems. Both served in
the Navy - American or British. The thrust was some 5.1 ton for each plan J52P408 for Skyhawk and Atar 9 non AB. The payload of around 7500lb.The climb is 15k feet per min against 20k of Etendars.Only in the speed the SE is much better with 0.98 vs 0.9 at low level or mach 1.3 vs 0.93 at 12 km. Regarding the maneueverability the Skyhawk is better atclow speed and SE at hight. Both planes had good radios of action of some 800 kilometer . The SE carried 2x30 mm guns and Skyhawk 2x20mm. The SE is from Fly model 38. Yair |

A-4 Skyhawk vs A-5C Fantan - who is a better attack plane
The Skyhawk was the principal US NAVY attack plane alongside the A-6 Intruder and later the A-7 Corsair II. The late modwl N had the more powerful J52P408 engine of a thrust of 5.1ton. The overhall performance were greatly improved along with a greater bomb load capacity.
The bombing accuarcy was greatly by a digital INS system. The max speed of the loaded Skyhawk was around 500 knots which is 50 knots lower than the Phantom or 100 knots below the F-105D !!! The Fantan is faster at low level with 0.98 mach vs 0.88 mach of the Skyhawk but with AB the range is limited than the Skyhawk as the bomb load which is smaller. So the Skyhawk is a more dedicated attack plane and had more advantages isf we compare it to the Fantan. Yair |

Great models and magnificent Yair comparisons! This is very good, knowing the differences, advantages of each other and the history of these aircraft.

Dear Sergio - This is the format of work I am doing and that is why I build all my models in a scale of 1:48 for comparision reasons between models of the same role and era.
I attach here images of my last 3 NAVY jets that I build lately. Yair |

IAF Skyhawk vs Syrian Mig -17
The event happend in 1970 when a group of IAF Skyhawks that attacked Syrian ground forces met a bounch of Mig -17 that was send to intercept the Skyhawk's.
During the air battle that took place one of the more experienced Israelian pilot found himself behind a Mig -17 and since he was in air to ground mode he decided to fire the rockets that were in a canister under the wing. He fired the rocket's and the Mig disintegrated in a huge fire ball. This was a great sucess for the the Skyhawk squadron as the Skyhawk was able to ahoot down the nimble Mig-17. Yair |

A-4 Skyhawk vs F-4BPhantom vs F-8E Crusader
The above fighters were the main backbone of the NAVY during the Vietnam rolling thunder campaign between 1965 -1968 period . The small Skyhawk served as an attack fighter while the Crusader served as an interceptor and the Phantom was used mainly as an interceptor but also for ground attack missions where it was needed and therefore was the more contributing to the war effort from the three.
