Your disappointment with the fairings is obvious. Before I got into armor I built a lot of aircraft, and always dreaded dealing with wing fairings. I found it helpful to delaminate the paper, and preform the thinned part with mountain and valley curves as appropriate. Dry fitting of the formed part is important before any gluing to ensure the curves are deep enough. I usually lightly applied glue at the upper trailing edge and let dry. If the preformed valley curve was accurate along the length of the fairing, glue often wasn't applied again until I tacked the piece at the leading edge fuselage join. Then wrap around and glue at the underside trailing edge. Hot moist breath directed at the part during this process will soften the paper further and make it a little easier to work with.

That tail-cone petal design isn't easy. You nailed it.

Great idea to prepaint the inside rims and edges of the tail planes before gluing them up. Much neater than trying to do it afterwards. Thanks for that tip

Continue with the two motor nacelles ... insert the tab and half the frame at the rear ... next segment ... I glue the ends of the rear end pieces before cutting ... ... so I get a nice conclusion Yours sincerely Kurt |

I only glue the two rear segments to the wing when they are attached ... In parts 19 + 29 the ring is glued on Close the front ring with bulkhead ... and glue it bluntly Yours sincerely Kurt |

Now put together the 3D puzzle ... slide the ring onto the motor nacelle ... ... and then the engine cowling Yours sincerely Kurt |
